Resource Centre

  The SAFOD Resource and Information Centre will be the hub for 
  the SRP. It will also be an information resource for other disability
   issues through networking with other existing information centres,
   research institutions, DPOs, Academics, donors and Government
   Institutions.

    The SRP Resource Centre will be a Research Unit and will
    support the following activities:

• Newsletter / Bulletin production and publication to provide stakeholders with regular updates of research activities including funding and training activities;
• Regular e-mail updates in both English and Portuguese; and other formats usable by a variety of audiences, including DFID, other donors, SAFOD member countries, etc.
• The Disability Research Bulletin that was launched during the 6 month Planning and Conceptualization Phase.

• Production of Research Briefing Information; e.g. posters, 2 – page summaries / briefing notes, etc; professional translation of SRP documents.
• Management of  a database of national, regional and international stakeholders involved in disability work, including research; for responding to enquiries and linking people together; carrying out mapping exercises of partners and potential collaborators / users, including their activities, available resources, skills, information needs, and existing bases to link with collection of information at country level and submitting it to DPOs and to SAFOD;
• Establishing country level DPO / partner working groups for coordination, support and dissemination of information, advocacy of research activities, mobilizing resources, and monitoring; working groups to comprise NGOs, media, research institutions, etc; 
• Strengthening SAFOD’s communication capacity through provision of modern information and communication technology (ICT), including training of DPOs in participatory communications, and recruitment of component personnel.
